Xiamen can be reached through direct international flights from several countries and this include: Singapore, Japan (Tokyo, Osaka), South Korea (Seoul), Thailand (Bangkok), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur), Philippines (Manila), Indonesia (Jakarta), Hong Kong, Taiwan (Taipei), Macau, Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City), United States (Los Angeles, seasonal and charter flights), and Australia (Sydney seasonal).
Please be reminded that the availability of direct flights to Xiamen can vary depending on the airline schedules and seasonal changes – it is advisable to verify with the airline of your choice.
All participants require an entry visa to the People’s Republic of China unless exempted by bilateral governmental agreements or passport types. Be sure to communicate with the nearest Embassy or Diplomatic Mission of PR China to determine the requirements needed to obtain a visa.
Please submit a digital copy of your passport to the Congress Secretariat at <eas.congress@pemsea.org> if a visa is required so the Secretariat can prepare pertinent documents for visa application. You may know more about visa requirements or schedule an appointment for visa through the China online visa application center at https://cova.mfa.gov.cn.
Letters of Invitation from the Ministry of Natural Resources of China and the Xiamen Municipal People’s Government will be issued to the participants to assist with governmental regulations and processing of visas. These can be requested from the EAS Congress Secretariat.
To process your request, please ensure that the following information are clearly indicated upon online registration:
- Family name (as mentioned in the passport)
- First name (as mentioned in the passport)
- Nationality
- Date of birth
- Passport Number
- Type of Passport
- Date of Expiry (Passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of departure to China)
Once the Secretariat has confirmed your registration, please provide your expected date of arrival and departure in Xiamen.
